Book Club

Paws Hands & Hooves is proud to offer Horse Powered Book Clubs. These book clubs are a safe space for all readers. We utilize literacy circle concepts while interacting with the horses to develop in depth comprehension strategies and applications. Our K-3 book club centers around a different short story in a series each week. Each session includes a read aloud of the book, literacy circle activities and an activity with a Pony Professor. Our 4th - 8th grade book club offers a little more independence and in depth comprehension as students are assigned reading each week. When we meet, each student will present on their literacy circle assignment and will have an opportunity to do an activity with a Pony Professor. The cost of each book club is $100 and includes a copy of the book and a snack as well as all materials needed for completing activities. Registration and a non refundable deposit are required for this program.

Paws, Hands & Hooves is on a mission to provide high quality, evidence and research based equine assisted literacy and math interventions for little to no cost to our participants.  We have reached out to many companies and individuals to request sponsorship of our students and programs.  If you are unable to afford the program(s) you are interested in, please register and note on the registration you would like sponsorship.  You will be notified as soon as we can secure funds.  We will also note in the upcoming events section if we have received full sponsorship for any of our programs.
